Into the Woods University of Wyoming
Into the Woods is a story that can be driven from a variety of directions to express many lessons one learns through life and loss. This production explored the persistence of real world trauma within the storytelling routines of characters who are placed in a Middle School schoolyard. It explored associations with bullying, stranger danger, and also terminal illness in the world of a storytelling child. We embraced the fantasy of the story as well as the nature of kids on a schoolground telling these stories to impress, horrify, or inspire each other.
Important to note that the SFX for the Giant's voice was a composite recording of the full cast saying the Giant's lines. SFX Sound Design also by Jason Banks.
